Road

Creative Commons licenses allow material to be shared and reused under terms that are flexible and legally sound.

All We Value Nature materials are available under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 License (CC BY 4.0). This license means you are free to share and adapt our content in any medium or format but must provide credit.

How to attribute

Creative Commons licenses provide flexibility in how you provide credit. An attribution must be reasonable based on the medium, means and context.

You may not suggest We Value Nature or any content creator endorses you or your use of the material and you must indicate if you have modified the original work.

Best Practice

If you use an image, infographic or short document from the We Value Nature media library, we recommend that where possible you follow the below example:

What is natural capital? by Natural Capital Coalition, sourced from We Value Nature and licensed under CC BY 4.0 / (Modified (in what way) by xx)

If you are using materials created by We Value Nature you may wish to use the We Value Nature attribution logo block.

If you are delivering a full training course based on We Value Nature CC BY 4.0 content we ask that you include three We Value Nature attribution slides and outline the campaign to participants.

Restrictions

You may limit who can access materials containing CC BY 4.0 content but you may not apply legal terms or technological measures that restrict other people from sharing or adapting Creative Commons licensed content.

We Value Nature or the content creator cannot control how you use the materials but you must remove any attribution information if requested.

The Creative Commons frequently asked questions contain more details on these restrictions.
