We Value Nature 10-Day Challenge – Day 9

A mission statement for nature

Today’s challenge is to write a business mission statement for nature. A mission statement should drive everything you do for nature. A good mission statement for nature should explain what your business or organisation is ultimately aiming to do for nature.

You should consider your values, priorities and what success looks like. Here are a few examples:

Patagonia: Build the best product, cause no unnecessary harm, use business to inspire and implement solutions to the environmental crisis.

Whole Foods Market: To nourish people and the planet.

Tesla: To accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy.

WWF: To conserve nature and reduce the most pressing threats to the diversity of life on Earth.

After you’ve drafted your mission statement share it with your colleagues and get their thoughts.

Alternatively draft a personal a mission statement to follow in your professional and personal life.

Has your company or organisation already framed a mission statement for nature? Great – share this with us and on the Capitals Community and let us know how this is integrated in some of your projects.
