Module 2: Adapted for the food and beverage sector

This adapted training module, designed for food and beverage businesses, organisations or colleagues, provides practical and concrete guidance on how, as a company, you can begin to scope a first natural capital assessment in order to integrate nature into decision-making.

This training is targeted at individuals with an initial understanding of natural capital or that have taken part in/familiarized with We Value Nature’s module 1 training. It is particularly relevant for individuals that play an active role in sustainability/environment in their company or organization and are looking to better understand the practicalities of conducting a natural capital assessment.

This training module is based on the Natural Capital Protocol, the Food & Beverage sector guide to the Protocol, as well as the TEEB for Agriculture and Food: Operational Guidelines for business.

The general module 2 training was developed together with Little Blue Research and the Food & Beverage adapted version together with Nature^Squared

The learning objectives for this module are to:

  • Identify natural capital impacts and dependencies that are material to your business;
  • Acquire the necessary understanding, resources, and tools to scope your own assessment;
  • Be introduced to measuring and valuing natural capital; while
  • Sharing key practical considerations, tips and steps to take when undertaking a first assessment.
